Construction of Amas for the Kite-sailer

The stabilizer / floats or Amas are secondary components  of the Kite-Sailer and will be the first components we build for this project. The Amas should not be submerged but will serve to tip the vessel in a horizontal plane when the forces of the kite or the waves overpower it, The keel section and the crossbeam connections are the main stress areas. The keel section will be reinforced with heavy bi-axial carbon fiber on the interior and exterior before laminated in aviation e-glass. Dimensions: Length overall: 23' Max width 30" Back to main page
June - Copy and paste would be cool - just does not happen in the real world as such quite some work went into the second float/stabilizer. All what is missing is the fun part - custom paint - crossbeam supports - electric drive unit and a big splash in the water ....
April 3 coats of high build Epoxy primer give the Kite-sailer stabilizer / float / Ama the final shape and they are ready for top-coat and hardwear.   Back to main page

March - The hull is turned and the interior is laminated and sealed - Epoxy / cabosil joints with fiberglass and 2 protective layer of epoxy resin. Keel in Biaxial carbon fiber.                           Back to main page
